Artist Statement

It has always been important to me to do "good work" and that has a couple of meanings for me. I desire to do what I do to the best of my abilities. I want to feel good about doing a good day's work for a good day's pay. Good work should be for the greater good of my community and the planet. This philosophy extends to my artworks.

Some of my abilities are a willingness to fully cultivate community resources and get everyone involved. I believe that my visionary leadership skills inspires teamwork that will improve and execute inventive solutions for nonprofit organization, especially arts related organizations. I am passionate about building an organization's capacity through creative partnerships, resourceful cooperation and inventive collaborations.

I am committed to making artwork by re-using, re-inventing and re-purposing trash, litter and other found materials. My process tends to begin with the materials and then to figure out what I can do with them that makes them into something interesting to look at. I have made art pieces from bottle caps, truck tires, jigsaw puzzles and many other single-use items. I continue to explore the world for unconventional  “art materials.” I believe in the artistic process and find great satisfaction in the re-creating.
